Spotlight on Richmond, Virginia

Our travel spotlight shines on a city so rich in history that it’s name, Richmond, is only fitting. It is the capital of Virginia, but is also commonly referred to as the “The Capital of the South.”  Richmond’s 400 year history has included notable events in the Revolutionary War, Civil War and Civil Rights Movement. In present day, the culture of the city is drawing tourists left and right to enjoy the art scene, food destinations, famous breweries, and much more. We will highlight for you some of the best things to do in Richmond and, of course, point you in the right direction to shop our jewelry alongside the latest fashions.

If you’re into scenic biking or walking, the Virginia Capital Trail is where you want to be. It is a 52-mile dedicated multi-use trail connecting Richmond and Williamsburg along the beautiful and historic Route 5 corridor.

After a days exercise, you deserve a cold beer or cider from one of Richmond’s famous breweries. There are over 30 breweries in the area including some very famous ones like Hardywood Gingerbread Stout, Stone Brewing, or The Veil Brewing Comany. Mekong, a famous beer bar, is known nationwide for offering 50+ tap selections and 200 bottle offerings alongside delicious Vietnamese food.

The Art Scene in Richmond is another draw for visitors and highlight for locals. One of the most famous museums there is the Virgina Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA). They have an incredible permanent collection that is free to the public. Their collections include Art Nouveau and Art Deco, English silver, Fabergé, and the art of South Asia. The Valentine is a museum, dedicated to the rich 400 year history of Richmond that dates back to the beginning of our country. Come get to know Richmond and regions history- you will not be disappointed!

Not a fan of museums? Come to enjoy the Street Art that Richmond is becoming famous for. There are over 100 murals around the city for your enjoyment.
